We would like to bring to your attention that we, Westgate on Sea Christmas Lights Switch On committee, recently held a vote in Westgate on Sea to find a Local Hero to switch on our Christmas Lights.
There were many names put forward with some great back stories.
We had to select a winner and we had 2 outstanding candidates. Mrs Ruth Shilling and Phil, the driver of your 35 bus service.
Eventually we decided to give the honour to Mrs Ruth Shilling but we felt that you should be aware of how much affection is felt for Phil. He is a star.
You should be very proud of Phil as an employee. He represents you in a very good light. He is kind, generous and very willing to help passengers not matter what their issues are.
BTW, Phil is aware that he was beaten to the post by Ruth as Ruth constantly reminds him !
We survived! Thank you SO much for all your logistical support in the planning stages, and thank you to your lovely drivers for being so professional and punctual. All went very well!

I would just like to say what a fantastic driver you have in Keith on the 36. He is pretty much always on time, safe smooth driving has a brilliant manner with the passengers and nothing is to much trouble. He is always up for a bit of banter which makes the journey a joy.

I just wanted to write to express my thanks and appreciation to the very kind bus driver of the 620 bus from Hastingleigh to Canterbury at 7.34am on Monday 5th August. My son and I were trialling his route to his new school and the driver took time to go over it all with us and went out of his way to ensure we understood where to go. My son now feels considerably more confident about negotiating this new route for him (as do I!). Please could you pass on our thanks for going out of his way for us.
Yesterday my 11 year old daughter got on the wrong bus home to Stelling Minnis, she’s just started secondary school. Not only did she get on the wrong bus but her phone ran out of battery, to let me know where she was going or confirm that she was on the correct no.18 bus, her messages increasingly panicked and me trying to stay calm! Jess was the driver of the 620 bus she was on, my daughter eventually got the courage to explain to him she was lost and on the wrong bus and that her phone had ran out of battery. He refused to let her out as they were driving through woods and explained to her it wasn’t safe to let her out there and he would drop her at the next village pub. He also let her use his mobile phone to call me,
I just wanted to say a big thank you to Jess for taking care of her as much as he could, whilst still doing his job.

Hi, I just wanted you to pass my thanks on to one of your drivers. On Saturday my friend and I were riding our horses out of Painters Forstal towards Eastling and we met one of your small busses going the other way (The bus was going to Throwley I believe). The horses were very nervous of going past the bus, compounded by some horses in a field next to us running up to the fence. Your driver was fabulous, he pulled over as far as he could, switched off his engine and was totally patient waiting for us to get past. We skittered past a bit sideways and again he was in no rush and waited until we were well clear before starting his engine again. He is a perfect example of what to do when faced with a nervous horse. This was at around 1300 but I’m not sure of the exact time. Please pass on my heartfelt thanks to your wonderful driver.

A very professional driver and really friendly with the passengers. For some
of the elderly passengers he was talking to, he probably really made their

I felt like I should write an email telling you about the wonderful service we experienced on Saturday the 28th of August on the 660. I have never used this route previously but a friend suggested it to get to Tankerton. Although the route is quite infrequent I thought we would give it a go. The bus driver, a young man Jessie was an absolute pleasure. I have never met a more courteous and polite driver. He greeted every customer with smile and welcomed them. He is an absolute asset to your company.

What a journey it has been!
Our Embassy Summer Canterbury centre will be closing on Monday, 12th August!
Together, we have provided excellent services to almost 1,000! children from all over the world, and, I dare say, helped making Summer 2019 a memory they will always be happy to revisit!
Therefore, on behalf of our management team, I would like to express a huge thank you to your whole organisation! We have valued your cooperation, flexibility and helpfulness, and held our partnership in very high regard.

Have been on the 36 today, cheerful drivers both trips there and home again.
Dear Sir or Madam,
I write to you, because I want you to know about the operator of one of the Bus routes the County Council subsidises.
People are very quick to criticise, but usually slow to praise.
This letter regards Route 36 – Herne Bay to Margate, operated by Regent Coaches.
I would like it to be put on record the first class quality of service provided by this Operator, and I know this is not only my opinion but also that of most of the passengers who use it.
Given that there are often traffic and road works problems from time to time, it is extremely good on time keeping.
Other comments from passengers are how pleasant and cheerful and helpful their drivers are.
If only the same could be said for the areas main operator.
I and, I’m sure, most of the other passengers, hope that we can look forward to many more years of their excellent service on Route 36.
Just a quick email to pass on my thanks to the drivers this weekend. The weather conditions were difficult to say the least and they were all extremely flexible and understanding.

I wanted to thank your driver who drives the bus through Waltham around 4/5pm. On several occasions my friends and I have been horse riding through the village and your driver is always courteous – pulling over, stopping and really important waits until we have all passed and got a distance away before starting up his engine. He is always polite and patient. So good to see a professionai driver who understands and is respectful of other road users. Thank you.

Just a brief one to thank you for the service at the weekend with the delivery of the Jose Arnauda group from Luton to Bookers.
The group and the driver seemed to develop a very good relationship, and everyone was in really good spirits on their arrival. (Not an everyday event when you’ve landed at Luton!)

I would like to commend Jess, one of your drivers. He is consistently good humoured, polite, helpful and a good safe driver. It is always a pleasure to travel with him and he is a great credit to your organisation.
We would like to take this opportunity to write and thank Sean, our driver, for going above and beyond the call of duty during our trip to Lille last week.
The return trip was problematic for reasons quite beyond our control – arising due to cancelled trains during the day on Eurostar.
Sean managed the situation very well, even though feelings were running very high. When we received the news that our train had been postponed for a further 8 hours he took the initiative and organised a return by Ferry.
As you can imagine, our return time was significantly later than originally anticipated, but Sean made sure that everyone arrived to their respective homes safely.
We really appreciated him taking care of us so well.
Our driver was absolutely brilliant could not compliment him enough! Well done regents.

He was an excellent driver but it was not just that… his thoughtfulness in driving close to the kerb to allow the children to board safely; his health and safety messages at the beginning; his local knowledge to avoid the queues and his patience with the inevitable delays and London traffic… all of this made our day so much more pleasurable and the whole trip was stress-free and happy.

I’d just like to say that he is one of the most amazing drivers I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet. He always greets all the passengers with a smile, nothing is to much for him and when the pupils get off the bus he wishes every single one a good day and to cross safely and to be good. All the children behave on the bus and he is always friendly and polite.

We hired a 16 seater coach which was very clean, comfortable & well appointed. Thankfully over this record breaking weekend the air conditioning was very efficient. To our delight there was lots of space for the men in our family who are all well over 6ft.
We hired over two days with two different drivers, both of them were professional and patient, nothing was too much trouble and we enjoyed good service with a smile.
The office staff were also extremely helpful, keen to ensure that we had what we needed.
(There wasn’t a lot of luggage space for 16 people, but we didn’t need it & I’m sure the office staff would have pointed that out if our circumstances had been different).
We would definitely recommend this company without hesitation & will use them again should the need arise.

Dear Regent Coaches,
I travelled on your route 638 service today departing at 1356 from Whitstable, Harbour Street to Faversham, Makenade Garage, and in this day and age when people are so quick to complain about things I thought I’d make the time to send a compliment.
The bus was clean and tidy, but in particular what has prompted me to send this email was the courteous driver and his excellent driving skills over what seems to me to be quite a challenging route, all contributing to making this a good travel experience.
I don’t often make the time to write letters of praise (which in many ways is a shame) but I was particularly ‘driven’ (pun intended ?) to do say after today’s experience. I hope the feedback is of interest.
l got on the bus at Birchington at 14.39 to go to QEQM hospital at Margate. The driver was a lovely young man, we stopped at Margate for one minute and he explained it was to do with timing. l thought that was good of him to tell us and not leave us wondering why, and at the hospital he told me the return times to Birchington and it was the same driver at 17.05. He is a credit to your company and both buses spot on time, GREAT.
I just want to thank you and your staff for the bus service while the Corona Virus is on. I live in Seasalter and have been relying on the 638 and 660, mainly the 660. The bus has always been on time and Mark the driver is always happy. It has been a pleasure travelling on his bus. Once again, thank you.

We were 2 Australians staying near Whitstable for 2 weeks. The bus driver who drives between Faversham and Tankerton was an amazingly helpful and friendly driver. His courtesy to his regular passengers and to new passengers, like ourselves, was outstanding. We would vote him ‘UK’s Bus Driver of the Year!’
